This series documents a cozy Sunday afternoon with a home baker in her kitchen, focused on two rituals: baking cardamom sweet buns and practicing cake icing.
I worked with natural window light to keep the images honest and tactile. From flour on the counter, softened butter, the sheen of egg wash, and steam rising off the first tray from the oven. The process unfolds from measuring and mixing to shaping and baking, followed by piping, smoothing, and playful test swirls on a practice cake.
The result is a warm, documentary set that celebrates craft and repetition, the calm concentration of icing, and the everyday joy of sharing something fresh from the oven. This was a collaboration between photographing and baking.
