An exploration of nature, colour, and quiet human connection in the Hudson Valley.

Nestled in the hills of Cold Spring, NY, this project captures the vibrant transformation of fall as the leaves shift into deep reds, golden yellows, and warm earthy tones. During a day of wandering along a hidden hiking trail above the town, I documented the textures and colours that define the landscape crisp leaves underfoot, towering trees splashed with autumn light, and the serene shapes of the mountains reflected in the still water.

At the start of the trail, a willow tree gently framing a bright yellow house drew my attention. This spot became an anchor for the story: a moment where architecture, nature, and memory intersect. A chance encounter with the woman who owned the house added unexpected warmth to the experience, offering a glimpse into her history and the place she calls home.

Throughout the hike, I also focused on quieter, personal moments where my subject was immersed in the calm of the environment, embodying the sense of peace that Cold Spring evokes. The project weaves together landscape, colour, and human presence, celebrating the harmony of nature and the small interactions that make an adventure meaningful.
