This section explores digital flash photography through the lens of Halloween as a shared social experience. I hosted a house Halloween party where everyone arrived in thought out, playful costumes. This project captures moments of collective fun, highlighting creativity, friendship, and the way people come together through joint outfits and shared ideas. Halloween, for me, is a moment that brings people together in a unique and light-hearted way—a time to be expressive, imaginative, and present with one another.

Throughout the night, I photographed details and interactions that defined the atmosphere: face painting in progress, a Ratatouille couple, and characters inspired by the thieves from the Louvre. I was particularly interested in how people construct their outfits, whether through handmade elements, references to popular culture, or collaborative costumes, revealing personal creativity and humor.

Beyond the party, this series extends into the city itself. Using my Hasselblad, I moved through the trees and streets of New York to document Halloween in a wider public context. I photographed families celebrating in Washington Square Park, decorated houses, and spontaneous moments of Halloween joy throughout the city. These images place the private energy of the party in conversation with the broader, communal experience of Halloween in New York.

The final part of the series was shot at night, exploring the intensity of New York City on Halloween. The streets were hectic, crowded, and unpredictable, offering a contrast to the intimacy of the earlier images. Together, these photographs present Halloween not just as a party, but as a city-wide moment of transformation, creativity, and shared celebration.
